Ahmad is organising the volunteer fire brigade with Syrian and Lebanese members. They extinguish fires both in the Arsal refugee camp and in neighbouring towns. The father of six children had to leave Syria with his family in 2012 and, like 1 million others, has been living in tents in Lebanon ever since.
The fire brigade, founded by residents, received rudimentary training from the Netherlands. They are proud of their achievements and are fully committed to saving people. Currently, fires have to be extinguished with inadequate equipment, sometimes with bare hands. For more safety during operations and to be able to provide for his family, Ahmad would like material and financial support.
